Today im trying to work on my event and im filling in an area with dirt, i had a bunch of stuff i was gona use in my inventory for the event, all of a sudden a fricken creeper walks up to me and blows me into a hole and i lose all the stuff, it just disapears, i got some flowers i had, wow, and so i try to do it again from noting and another bunch of mobs keep coming around and killing me. they are like overspawning, and i cant do anything, so can we just please lower the number of creepers? their are just too many and personally i think they should be considered "greifers" and get banned and now i cant even do anything, their everywhere destroying everything.

Suggestion: Don't play on peaceful in SSP

I know what you mean, their spawnrate does seem higher in some places, but as Max said, there is no way to limit this. Besides, creepers are an integral part of minecraft, removing them would change the game completely.

Indeed, i believe we all had our share of creeper losses.
creepers happen.

I gotta say the worst is when you get creeped, and while you're trying to get out of that hole another one jumps in with you and blows up followed by I third. that's when I throw in the towel and call it a day.

I think the higher spawnrate may also have to do with the number of players. I'm not sure if this is correct though.
