The Far Lands

Minecraft isn't really that infinite. After about 12 million blocks from spawn, the terrain will start to become very distorted.
On singleplayer, this uses almost 100% of most cpu's power and makes extreme fps drops.
However, there are no noticeable fps drops on multiplayer servers, only the blocky forward movement.
(this is at x: 12550821 y: 130 z: 12550821)

And in the Nether:

Don't worry, these were from the wiki.
I'd give up on the first 24 hours on getting there, it'd be so mind-numbingly boring. 820 hours to get there, no way i'd try that out
I got there myself with singleplayer commands, though. It really lags on singleplayer, apparently it doesn't lag on multiplayer.
(not saying that I managed to get there on the server)

I don't think this could crash the server... But it may put lots of stress on it.
Max, are you in any way against any admin teleporting to the coordinates I gave in my post?

By this reaction, I would put $20 on that being a yes.
Not only are you putting the stress on it by being near the far lands, but you are also Teleporting to an unallocated space, so the server would be trying to render the area you are moving to. This would be much like traveling far in the nether and creating a portal back, I imagine.
If you want to see it, I would suggest setting up a server locally at your house and doing it that way.

Go to the Far Lands in Nether and portal back.
