So I was wondering what software does everyone use for their everyday activities ingame or out. I know alot of people use PCs and a few use Macs so make sure you state in your comment what it runs on.

For example do you use editing programs like Adobe Photoshop and how good do you see yourself?

This thread will mostly be for showing people what is around, hopefully free or a paid software with a free trial so everyone can have a go.

I personally would love what kind of good video editing software is about for a complete and utter noob.

So here we have already:

SonyVegas Video editing software: Price $50
Windows Movie Editor: Price FREE

So suggest away and anything about Software would be great to hear!

Good video editing software is Sony Vegas. It cost about $50 i think but you can get it free with a keygen thats what i did. Its kind of complicated and would take some time to learn. A simpler and free one is Windows Movie Maker which is already installed on any PC. If you use windows movie maker you will need to find our how to convert them to post them on youtube. I have used and learned both.

slight correction there Fallentuesday, Windows movie maker came standard in xp but not in windows 7.
For windows 7 it comes optional in the "live essentials" pack in which the MSN installer is also. (its still free though)
Windows 7 has "dvd maker" but you cant do as much with it as with movie maker.

I always use pinnacle studio (i believe 14 is the newest at time of this post).
As usual its not free software but free if you know how to obtain things freely ;)

Movie Maker is my favorite because it's generally easy to get a hold of and easy to use. I had trouble getting it onto my win 7 computer but now that it's on here it's great. for skins I use Skinedit but I'm not sure if you're looking for just video or what. I got a free trial for Videopad online which worked nicely once and then started doing some stupid stuff but that might just be cause it was a trial.

Well I make video games for a living, I use a PC (XP or w7) and the following software most of the time:

Photoshop
3D Studio Max
Flash
Unity Engine

I can also use After Effects, but not as well as a few of the guys here.

I've been using Valves Hammer editor since I was 13-14, so about 12-3 years now

I use Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro for photo/video editing. I wouldnt suggest Premiere unless you have prior experience with video editing, though I'm sure you could learn it.

As for other software I use regularly, I use Eclipse (Free!) for coding, MS Office, Google Chrome, etc.

I use FRAPS to record video, Paint.net for visual editing that cant be handled with mspaint, Virtualclonedrive for my Ghost Optical drive, Norton Ghost for my Data recovery, Pascal for my programing. Winrar for data compression.

Most everything else is WINDOWS 7 default. With proper maintainance and settings adjustments it all works quite well and stable. I dont even have any antivirus software installed as included software does the job when properly configured.

I use photoshop usually, but not much because as a photographer I mostly do small RAW and JPEG editing in Iphoto and such. Iphoto doesn't offer much RAW though so I use other programs. I use Photomatix Pro for my HDR photographs.
