Hello Maxloaderians!


Pixie and me have recently decided to build a Redstone-school. The project is about halfway done, and the huge building in which the school is built in, is already 8 levels high.

You can directly visit it via : /warp redschool (thanks to gaz for this)



The Redstone school is a place for everybody who wants to learn how to use the redstone like an expert!
It features curses for beginners and for advanced readstone-nerds. It starts with the sentence "this is a piece of redstone powder" and will end with an explanation of a simple elevator!


As you can see, every detail is explained with signs, for you to understand!

So if you want to become the next redstone mastermind, have a look at the project, and learn everything, from the very basics, to the newest techniques with redstone!

Dread and Pixie are always eager to tell you more about their favorite powder (altough gunpowder is a close 2nd)

Awesome! I can finally learn more about redstone! Although, being able to make a permanent minecart subway and making a infinite power engine with redstone is pretty good I think.

This is a fantastic idea! I can't wait to enroll!

yes, mastering redstone opens up a world of possabilities in minecraft. pritty much anything is possable with redstone.

Wow, then i thought that about everything was already built.
Maybe it was just my imagination that is depleted a bit.

I thought I should post a pic of the current progress, I built a 7 segment display aside the school rolling a message when the lever is activated.

As what comes to the floor plan, there is a good 20 more floors we can build before the height limit. So if you have any ideas or requests on what you would want to see or experience in the building, I and Dreads are eagerly waiting for your proposals that we can add to the upcoming floors.

You should add unary adders, since they are useful with pressure plates etc.

Continuous minecart subway? Eternal power engines? Theoretical redstone science? Heretical redstone science? Q all of the above?

Oh yes that is the compacted version. The full size looks like this:

There is a miniature versio of this on the top of every redstone torch.

And I also have a recommendation.

Could you include hidden doors at one point? Where you hit a pressure plate and the wall in front of you opens.
Took me forever to figure that out...

And about the hidden doors: There are actually "hidden doors" in the school. See of it as an Easter egg. Pixie built them in while i was busy figuring out how to "teach" redstone best. They are so well hidden, even I haven't found all of them yet! So just pass by and try to find them.

Actually they are really practical, i make them to hide my forts.

I went through the redstone school yesterday, it was awesome! I see you are adding new floors. Looking forward to seeing the new exhibits!

XD It's okay. I was bored one day and decided to make a expanded redstone torch. And don't worry I won't make fun of you. I am wondering how that face got on the pig though....

Might want to save some space for tripwires, water/lava dispensers, and the like for when they are releaced! ^_^

By the way: The redstone school is growing with an incredible speed, so don't be shy, have a look at it!

The first 5 Floors are kind of "Basics" about Redstone. Here you will learn about stuff that you might use to make your own inventions (Circuits, logic gates, pulse generators etc.)

From the 5th floor upwards we will now mainly showcase certain things in it's whole (for example: 7th floor is dedicated to farms).

So have a look, even advanced redstone maniacs might learn a thing or two!

WARP Wow. This IS important.

I found out that the piston behavior was changed, so you may need to tweak the elevators and repeaters to get the same effect as before. Hopefully this will prevent the elevators from glitching you in to the ground though.

That is good to know thank you. Altough i believe elevators still work fine i will look into it.

I need to learm more about redstone. Any one ready for another student ?
